Itchy Auto Salvage
This is small series of test models I did to try and make the plastic look like broken fiberglass. I thinned out the edge of the area I want to look damaged with the rotary tool. I then tried everything from cloth band aids to paint brush bristles/hairs. All seem to work equally well to achieve those broken fibreglass hairs.
I then cut the door open and whacked the front bumper in to continue on with damage from impact. I used some hobby grass to get a “ditched” effect, then some mud color dabbed in those areas and wherever else I felt mud would splatter. The airbag is simply the baby finger from a latex glove.
