Resin 1966 Dodge A100 Van

This is a resin body of the 1966 Dodge A100 using the 1/25 scale “Little Red Wagon” kit by Lindberg as a chassis and trim donor. I purchased the body about 15 yrs ago on ebay.

Assembly

Working with a resin kit has many challenges unlike the plastic kits we are all used to. To begin with, standard model cement will not work on resin, instead super glue must be used. The material is also very brittle, you risk cracking the body if you try spreading the sides to fit over the chassis.

Trim and Prep

Resin bodys are rather thick compared to the styrene body. The glass from a donor kit generally will not fit and you will have to cut your own. There are other parts that may require some scratch building and or kitbashing simply because you are building a model that was likely never produced in kit form.

Painting

A resin body needs to be thoroughly washed with soap and water before painting because of the amount of silicone residue left behind in the moulding process. Additionally, the body will also need to be primed and sanded.
